International Day

On Friday 29 November, Rolleston College celebrated our annual International Day. The aim of the event was to promote the many different languages and cultures within our school and give our learners the opportunity to try something new. Learners were able to choose three sessions, from more than 30 different options.

The day was a great success and our learners were able to develop their Rolleston Spirit by being curious, adaptive, joyful, collaborative and creative.

We were grateful to have the support of the Fencing Institute and Ami’s Henna and Beauty. A big thank you to the teachers who ran workshops and shared some of their own interests and cultures with the learners.

Ko tōu reo, ko tōku reo, te tuakiri tangata. Tīhei uriuri, tīhei nako nako.

Your voice, my voice, are an expression of identity. Behold, the message and the messenger.

This event was a memorable learning experience for us all.

We raised $236.30 for World Vision.

The (very close!) results of the international quiz are as follows:

1: Kōanga (40 whānau competition points)

2: Raumati (30 whānau competition points)

3: Ngahuru (20 whānau competition points)

4: Hōtoke (10 whānau competition points)

More international day photos can be found in last week's Lancewood.
