Two Rolleston College learners, Mia Caro Riedel and Kristina Stepchenko, swimming for the Selwyn Artistic Swimming club, had an outstanding turnout at the national championships during the school holidays.

Mia placed third in her duet with Eliza Sellier, a remarkable result.

Kristina achieved second in youth figures, third in her junior free duet and tech duet (both paired with Amelia McConnochie), second in year 9-10 free solo, and won the 15-19 year olds junior free solo event.

Kristina won the Esplin Cup for the highest scoring junior solo at the competition.

Selwyn Artistic Swimming won the Club Spirit Trophy and Chantelle Murray, head coach, remarked that this win wouldn't have been possible without the outstanding effort and results of Mia and Kristina.
