Year 12 PE/sport university visits

A group of year 12s went to the University of Canterbury and Lincoln University to learn all about the sport pathways. They had a campus tour at Lincoln and heard all about the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation as well as the sport scholarships on offer. At UC they had the chance to play with some of the sport science toys and met up with Rolleston College alumni, Caleb and Isaac, who are now in their third year at UC.

Fire station visit

Huge shout out to the volunteers at Rolleston Fire Station. Nathan has set his sights on becoming a firefighter so Chris, a volunteer at Rolleston, agreed to host us on site to have a look around the trucks and the wide variety of gear that they use. This included putting on the uniform which is not only heavy but extremely warm even without flames in the vicinity! Good luck to Nathan with his pursuit of joining as a volunteer.
